In January 2021, a regional commission was established in Kostanay for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression. The members of the commission see their task in the legal and political rehabilitation of the victims of political repressions, the restoration of historical justice for all the innocent victims of Kazakhstan. Last year, Kostanay historians published a monograph containing materials on the confiscation of the property of beys, kulaks, the Batpakkara uprising of 1929 and deported peoples. In addition, to this day they work in the state and special archives of Kazakhstan and thus find previously unknown documents about victims of political repression, create and expand a virtual map of the places of mass graves of victims of political repression, and form a database of illegally repressed citizens. The participants of the seminar presented relevant reports on a given topic, exchanged views and identified new promising areas for the implementation of research activities on the study of political repression in Kazakhstan.
