The entrance group is presented by composition "Splitshanyrak". Shanyrak for Kazakhs isthe symbol of family wellbeing, welfare, the home symbol. In this composition shanyrakand his parts are broken because they are squeezed by totalitarian system. It symbolizes the tragedy of Kazakh people who suffered from the repressive policy.
On the podium it is presentedthe model of the map of KazakhSoviet Socialist Republic, where you can see the dark spot – the territory of Karlag in CentralKazakhstan. Blackflagmarkedthe capital of Karlag–Dolinskoe village. On the walls there arethe standsthat showorders, which were carried out by the managers of People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs.
On the opposite side of the podium it is presented the reduced model of a watch-tower of the militarized guard of Karlag. It is made on the background of I. V. Stalin, the main culprit of the death of millions innocent people.
Such towers equipped all forced labor camps.
The corridor is presented in the form of camp perimeter with wooden columns and lamps. Plafonds of the corridor lamps are also the museum exhibits and belong to the 30th years of the XX century.
Along the walls there are tourniquets with archival materials – fragments of personal files of prisoners.
On the walls there are presented the maps of Karlag and its camp departments. They were provided by archive of Karaganda.
