ANNOUNCER: A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding public figure and statesman Smagul Saduakasuly was held in Kokshetau. The series of anniversary events that began in May covered a number of regions of the country and concluded in the Kokshetau region. The gathering was attended by well-known historians, scientists and young researchers of Kazakhstan.

RKS: Smagul Saduakasuly is a prominent figure of the 20s of the 20th century. He laid the foundation for a new education system in the Kazakh land and was a direct initiator of the opening of the first higher education institutions. The conference widely discussed Smagul Saduakasuly's work in the cause of patriotism and statehood, and his role in preserving the integrity of the national territory.

SNKh: DIKHAN KAMZABEKOVLY, ACADEMICIAN OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE RK: Smagul's work before becoming the Minister of General Education was to head the planning commission, which is called the state plan. Then there was a world called the integrity of the land, the integrity of the land - the integrity of the country. He served in Omsk. When he was in Omsk, at that time there was a very difficult time for the territorial integrity of the Kazakhs. It was a time when the Bolsheviks were planning to transfer all of the northern regions of Kazakhstan to Siberia through the Siberian Revolutionary Committee. Smagul's actions were very competent and well-reasoned, and he was responsible for preserving the current 5 northern regions of Kazakhstan, as well as the Semipalatinsk province, which is also called the Semipalatinsk region, and preserving all of it and joining Kazakhstan.

RKS: This year marks 34 years since we became a sovereign country. Achieving independence is a centuries-old struggle of our people. Kazakh intellectuals - Shokan Ualikhanov, Ibrai Altynsarin, Hakim Abay and the Alash movement laid the foundation of Kazakh statehood and made a great contribution to the development of the country. Their names, obscured due to long years of historical injustice, began to be glorified only after independence.

SNKh: AMANAI SEITKASYMOV, CANDIDATE OF HISTORICAL SCIENCES: This year is a special year for the Alash people, for the Kazakh people. A year full of significant anniversaries. This year we are celebrating the 180th anniversary of Abay, the 190th anniversary of Shokan Ualikhanov, and also the 125th anniversary of our compatriot Smagul Saduakasov, a great Kazakh statesman and personality. In fact, until the 90s, significant and unified studies were not conducted. Only after independence did the opportunity arise to reveal the faces of the former Aktangads. Glorifying these great men and passing on their legacy to future generations is a great responsibility for us. It is a great duty for scientists and specialists. If we continue to glorify our independence with such great men, I believe that our independence, freedom, and liberty will be preserved for a long time.

RKS: It is not without reason that the Agrotechnical Institute in the city is named after Smagul Saduakasuly. He proposed the ideas of modernizing agriculture, developing cooperation, and bringing production closer to the countryside. These ideas have not lost their relevance today. Smagul Saduakasuly's work still requires in-depth study, experts say.
