The day the Alash Autonomous Republic was established is forever etched in the history of the people. The day before, events were held in the Akzhar district of the North Kazakhstan region and in the city of Kokshetau to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Smagul Saduakasul, a prominent political figure, founder of the national theater, and founder of the newspaper "Egemen Qazaqstan" and the magazine "Aqiqat."
The village of Uyaly-Zharkyn in the Akzhar district of the North Kazakhstan region is the birthplace of the "Alash" activist. He grew up here, imbued with national and family values, as well as principles of honesty and perseverance. In the early 1990s, a school in Uyaly and a museum in the district center were named after him.
A scientific and practical conference, "The Alash Movement in the Life of the Alash" (Kazakhstan), was held in the village of Talshyk. Participants laid flowers at his monument and visited the museum.
The event was opened by Rustem Elubayev, Akim (mayor) of the district, with welcoming remarks. The plenary session featured Sabyr Kasymov, President of the "Kaharmandar" Public Foundation and Honored Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Dikhan Kamzabekuly, General Director of Kazakh Newspaper LLC and member of the National Kurultai; Ziyabek Kabuldinov, General Director of the Sh. Ualikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology; and Erik Nurakhayev, Chairman of the Regional Trade Union Association.
Famous sculptor Kazybek Satybaldin introduced those present to the design of the monumental "Smaguldyn Kasieti," planned for installation in the district center. After the official part of the ceremony, those gathered watched the premiere of the play "Smagul Shyny" by playwright Bayangali Alimzhanov, directed by Bekbolat Kurmangozhayev.
Events dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Smagul Saduakasuly continued in Kokshetau, at the agricultural institute named after him, part of the Sh. Ualikhanov University. The Institute's Rector, Professor Marat Syrlybaev, highlighted the work of the Alash Orda scholar, noting its importance in advancing bioresources, engineering technology, economics, and agriculture.
During the conference, proposals were made to install a memorial plaque on a city street, open a Saduakasula auditorium at Sh. Ualikhanov University, award scholarships in his name to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, hold traditional conferences on economics and agriculture, and name one of the schools being built under the "Keleshek Mektepteri" project after Saduakasula.
